China’s manufacturing base has matured at a remarkable rate, and in general Chinese manufacturing quality has risen in the process. But the maturing has brought with it rising costs for doing business: higher rates for wages, material, real estate, taxes and factory construction.

China may no longer be the lowest cost source for some products, but it still may be the best value for the level of quality delivered.

A key element that Avela brings to the table is communication. We get your product requirements from you in English through our office in Houston. We then relay those requirements to our Shanghai office where they are communicated to the manufacturer, speaking Chinese to Chinese. Translations are all handled within the Avela sphere where questions are raised and answered so there is nothing lost in the process.

This is crucial because miscommunication due to language or cultural differences is one of the big impediments to successful and profitable manufacturing in China. Everything needs to spelled out with no room for assumptions.

We meet face to face with the owners and factory management to make sure expectations are fully understood. Our staff, working for you, makes the quality inspections in person. If there is a problem, we work with the manufacturer to resolve it.

We may not be the cheapest QA and QC provider in China, but the adage still applies: you get what you pay for. We maintain an office in Houston where we are accessible to our clients. We work for our clients, not the manufacture. Most important of all, we stand behind our work.
